I think our open space and sports facility needs should be considered separately in order to address them differently:
Sports facilities could benefit from a hierarchical approach, such as that outlined, with new developments required to contribute to improvements to these hubs and key centres.
Open space that enable health and wellbeing activity, including the ability to play community organised sports, such as playing fields and biodiverse walking routes, should however should be considered key on site requirements for large developments and new settlements.
