The analysis is good but the options are not! According to the RSA 'affordable housing is not affordable for young people. Private rented housing is also not affordable with rents jacked up and section 21 evictions growing, Housing associations have been unable to meet the need and often provide a substandard service as is the case with Sanctuary. The council needs to build Council houses within our communities to provide low rent secure homes for young residents so that they can stay within our communities and slow the ageing of the population. This would also help to reduce child poverty.
