Representation Summary:

4. Should you not consider only allowing smaller houses to be built, instead of the large 4 and 5 bedroom homes that only a small percentage can afford, this area is rapidly becoming an elitist property area. Smaller homes would surely mean more properties per hectare, thereby reducing the number of development sites. This would reduce the over development which these plans indicate.

Having read the main details of the new local plan, I wish to raise the following points.
1. Difficulties already exist with insufficient road infrastructure, doctors surgeries, hospitals and schools. So this plan is difficult to justify.
2. These plans will only have a minimal effect on your and my children, but will cause untold hardship for our grandchildren and great grandchildren etc.
3. I appreciate that you only deal with planning and that infrastructure lies with Essex County Council, but you cannot continually pass plans without they contain provision for additional schools and suchlike.
5. With smaller sized homes more youngsters would perhaps be able to get on the housing ladder, which the large homes you allow planning for, obviates the chance they have.
6. You should not permit over intensification of the area, by hiding behind the fact that infrastructure is not your responsibility.
7. When you pass plans surely it is wrong to then allow changes that alter the whole building situation, as I believe happened on the Hall Road site. What happened to the schools and surgery that I understand were contained within the original plans.

I trust the foregoing indicates some of the strength of feeling on this issue.
