10.38 Core Strategy Policy ENV2 on the Coastal Protection Belt seeks to direct development AWAY from the undeveloped coastline wherever possible. This includes preventing the potential for coastal flooding and not permitting development in areas at risk of flooding, erosion or land instability. The extent of the Coastal Protection Belt is allocated within policy ELA2 of the Allocations Plan.
This supports our belief that housing would not be acceptable on the land to SW of Hullbridge and needs to be allocated elsewhere in the district, in areas not so vulnerable and in need of protection.
