Core Strategy Preferred Options (Revised October 2008)

Respondent: Mrs K Jesty

Representation Summary:

The Green Belt areas we have in Rayleigh should be protected from ad hoc development. Small undeveloped areas, such as the ancient wooded areas in the south west of the town, are havens for wildlife, the variety of which is diminishing fast from this area. The current trend of building a block of flats or a 'small development' of 4-bedroomed houses in any 'spare' Green Belt land is turning Rayleigh into a fragmented town increasing the traffic and its related pollution problems. I support the protection of all Green Belt land.
