While noise is an obvious consequence of the airports expansion and will impace on local residents, I nonetheless believe that a long-term view of the development should be considered. I do not think that the development should focus exclusively on light industry, but should also take into account developments of our tourism industry. Southend is a great place to visit, and we should be promoting the town a more than a "day-tripper's" destination.
