The road infrastructure for this area is already overburdened and incapable of taking a further increase. For example, queues from and to Rayleigh High Street from the Weir between 8-9am and 5-6pm. The Ridgeway is now used as a ring route to circumvent this problem adding to traffic problems Great Wheatley Road/High Road junction. This junction is also becoming dangerous with cars parking, all day in Great Wheatley Road by commuters to London and workers in Rayleigh.
