The area will never be attractive to investors unless like Dublin some 10 years ago the local council provides them with cheap qualified local employment, subsidised premises, better purpose built premises with car parking space or better public transport.
Why did major companies pull out of Southend:-
C.E.Heath, H.M.Custom and Excise for example ?
Southend's attributes are that it is on the River Thames and near to the North Sea. With holidays abraod becoming more and more expensive more effort should be put towards Tourism and Marina's.
