(14) Hockley Town Centre

Rochford District Council has recently commissioned Urban Initiatives, a leading urban planning and design consultancy, to produce town centre masterplans for Rochford and Hockley.

The purpose of the masterplans is to inform the Council's Local Development Framework and help provide guidance to both the Council and potential developers in terms of proposals, funding bids and enhancement schemes.

This study will help to identify how much capacity for development exists within the town centres of Rochford and Hockley and what level of new development is appropriate, taking into account the local character and historical context of the town centres, to achieve the Council's vision of making the district the place of choice in the county to live, work and visit.

What do you like about the town centre? What do you think about the range of shops, cafes, restaurants and other facilities in the town centre? What do you think is missing? How do you think things could be improved? What do you think about traffic and parking in the town centre? Is the town centre accessible?

If you have any initial comments, ideas, or proposals please let us know by clicking on the pencil icon above, and completing the form.
