I am opposed to the development of land to the north and east of Folly Chase (CFS064). The site has poor road access, leading to noise, pollution and congestion on the B1013 and potentially the quiet residential Betts Farm Estate (access by the latter would be totally unreasonable and would also involve the removal of Hockley's Community Centre). There would be a significant impact on residents health and well-being.The site has a well used and loved footpath providing access to green belt countryside and is the start of several circular walks.

I am opposed to the development of land to the north and east of Folly Chase (CFS064). The site has poor road access, leading to noise, pollution and congestion on the B1013 and potentially the quiet residential Betts Farm Estate (access by the latter would be totally unreasonable and would also involve the removal of Hockley's Community Centre). I am writing to express my opposition to option CFS064 (to build houses on land to the north and east of Folly Chase).

There is poor road access to the site which would lead to increased traffic congestion on the B1013.
<br> Further, if the intention is to access the site via Westminster Drive, this would be wholly unreasonable. This is a quiet and narrow residential road, often with cars parked on either side, and is designed only for access to the small number of houses which it supports and occasional access to Hockley Community Centre for planned and controlled events. Increasing traffic beyond its current levels would cause congestion, noise and air pollution, and be very detrimental to the health and well-being of residents.

Access via Westminster Drive would presumably see the demolition of the Community Centre. This is a public building and it would be disappointing to see the facility removed from the local community.

The land that is proposed to be used for the development is green belt and farmed regularly. There is a well used and loved footpath running around the perimeter leading to further paths and countryside. It is used frequently by walkers and runners, and is a resource supporting recreation in the area for all age groups. Encroaching on this space would also impact on the health and well being of local residents.
