It has been proposed by a local pressure group, which has some influence in the western part of the District, that the full allocation of up to 7,500 homes should be accommodated in a new Garden Village in the East. This would include a new road cutting across Greenbelt land in the District. Great Wakering Action Group has been formed to fight this proposal and to seek evidence to limit housing development in Great Wakering and the neighbouring communities.
This petition is to request that Rochford District Council make a Public Statement rejecting the concept of a new Garden Village in the East.
