Advice for delivering high quality sustainable development covering sustainable development/construction, sustainable drainage, biodiversity/landscaping, land contamination and pollution control.
We have previously provided comments on the Issues and Options document in early 2009. Our comments included advice on Sustainable Development, Sustainable Drainage Systems and Biodiversity and landscaping. These comments remain valid and should be considered in future iterations of the AAP.
In addition, we note that some parts of the AAP area may be subject to land contamination due to there past uses. We recommend that consideration should be given to this matter in taking the AAP forward.
Furthermore, should the proposed future development include industrial development or other potentially polluting land uses, it will need to be ensured that adequate pollution control measures are in place.
