London Southend Airport and Environs Joint Area Action Plan Preferred Options

Dear Sir,

Re Southend Airport and Environs JAAP consultation.

Further to my letter to you in response to the Councils' issues and options consultation last year I wanted to write to you again to reaffirm my support for the progressive development of Southend Airport.

I believe the published preferred option clearly sets out a very sound strategy for the development of the airport and surrounding area, facilitates the introduction of many, many new jobs to the area and also enables tourists to fly into Southend to take advantage of the facilities we have on offer.

I also support the slight extension proposed to the existing runway length to support the introduction of the new generation of larger, quieter aircraft.

I support the preferred option and would ask that you accept this letter as my response to the consultation exercise.
