London Southend Airport and Environs Joint Area Action Plan Preferred Options

Policy LS1 - General Policy

Representation ID: 14284

Received: 02/06/2009

Respondent: Anglian Water Services Ltd

Representation Summary:

Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this consultation document.

I note there are sewers crossing the site within:
Airport Development Areas
Green Buffer
New Airport Perimeter
Public Safety Zone 1
Public Safety Zone 2
Runway Extension

Public sewers are protected by an easement to ensure physical protection, i.e. no loading on the pipe and to ensure adequate access for maintenance and repair. Any development proposals within these areas would need to be discussed with Anglian Water.

I also note there are Pumping Stations within the New Airport Perimeter. We generally require a 15 metre cordon sanitare for Pumping Stations and I would suggest early discussions with Anglian Water should this proposal progress.

The Thames Gateway Water Cycle Study that is currently underway will advice on our ability to accept further foul and surface water flows from this growth proposal.
