London Southend Airport and Environs Joint Area Action Plan Preferred Options

Policy LS1 - General Policy

Representation ID: 14397

Received: 08/05/2009

Respondent: Pearl Baker Solicitors

Representation Summary:

The reasons for our objection are:

1. It would increase the local road traffic on roads that are virtually gridlocked now, particularly at rush hour times; and

2. It would enormously increase aircraft noise becuase of the airports increasing capacity and the size of aircraft; and

3. At a time when we are all having to consider our 'carbon footprint' such a proposal would increase air pollution; and

4. Our quality of life would be seriously affected and in this connection I would draw your attention to the Human Rights Act; and

5. It would inevitably result in a devalution of properties in the area immediately affected which may result in a case for proceedings against the local authoirty in the event that planning consent was granted.

I understand that there is currently a public consultation and I am writing in response to that.
