1. Increase in employment opportunities for the local community including some high level skills jobs
2. Increased leisure facilities and sports opportunities
3. Increased travel opportunities for townspeople and businesses
4. Improvement to town infrastructure ie. roads and rail
5. Potential increase in size of Southend's economy through new visitors to the town via the airport
6. Potential increase in the town's profile across the Eastern Region
7. Attraction of the town to new businesses
