We do support this policy, but we are concerned that no money should be squandered on road widening and/or a major new east-west link limits the funding that can be spent in support of public transport and therefore will undermine all efforts to reduce congestion and ensure that people travel sustainably.

ask the residents for there thoughts
A127 tesco roundabout, at cost to the tax payer, this roundabout should have been developed properly when tesco were given the go ahead to open there. This is the reason why an industrai estate should not be put there, the traffic now all flows from eastwoodbury lane to the new roundabout at peak time the traffic is at a stand still, you cannot reduce the number of cars on the road if anything it will get worse, large freight vehicle cause problems when they come off the a127 up to nestuda way, as the new roundabout here is large and you have 3 lanes trying to get around it

This is the wrong place for an airport - no consideration of the development of the surrounding area in the years of its operation.
East West link - so more roads (where who is this going to affect - far too vague - STOP CONCRETING OVER EVERYTHING

I consider that the signage for the airport leaves a lot to be desired. It is all very well for locals, but those not familiar with the area often get lost trying to find exactly where the airport is. I know this to be a fact as I have redirected numerous motorists who are hopelessly lost.

Respondent: Essex County Council
The County Council has participated in joint discussions with the two authorities of Rochford and Southend-on-Sea at each stage of plan preparation in regard to the highways and transportation aspects of the Plan. As a result, the County Council welcomes the proposed approach to the delivery of infrastructure and transport interventions set out within the Plan. However, there will be a need to continue to clearly understand the phasing of these interventions and how the works will be funded as the proposed development progresses.
Please find attached a representation form and representations submitted on behalf of Essex County Council to the Draft Submission Document for the Southend Airport and Environs Joint Area Action plan, February 2013.
