An important element here is to ensure that the identification, management and mitigation of the CUMULATIVE impacts of a succession of developments in close proximity to a Local Wildlife Site(s), is built into planning process at the earliest opportunity, before any individual development takes place.
The identification under SER9b of the potential biodiversity value of the land to the west of Alexandra Road is welcomed. An essential part of each development application will be that adequate management and mitigation proposals are made to ensure the protection of such habitats, and that adequate buffering occurs between existing residential areas and new developments.
