There must be a solution that will not be detrimental to the village!
We do not have the infrastructure to support a large number of new houses/families in the village. We only have 1 road in and out, when Watery Lane floods, which it so often does, it causes traffic chaos as it is without the added strain of hundreds of additional vehicles. We only have a very small primary school and no secondary school, the added burden of many more children would cause a negative effect on the standard of education. Our doctors surgery already seems to be bursting at the seems and it can be quite difficult to get an appointment as it is! The problems far outweigh the gains, and the long term issues that will arise from causing a population growth of such a size compared to the current level would be awful for the old and the new residents.
