Support the objective of reducing light pollution but feel that the submission of a light strategy with all planning applications is excessive. It should be restricted to developments over a certain size or say 5 residential units. The cost of providing supporting information for modest developments is becoming prohibitive.

The need for additional street lighting may not be confined within the boundary of a specific development, but may involve lighting along the public highway in the area of the development, particularly where that development increases the traffic density along existing roads that have little or no street lighting at present.
It is not clear whether the policy as proposed covers this aspect.
